During the first two weeks of May our volunteers will read the book "Who Will I Be?" to all the Head Start classrooms in Marion County. Our goal is to promote literacy by reading books to the children. Each child will receive their own personal copy of the book to enjoy! This year, we have expanded to include the Early Head Start program.
Literacy Volunteers of Marion County participated in the Literacy Fair held at the Fairmont Field House April 29, 2023. Over 450 books were passed out to students throughout the day. There was also a fun activity available for the kids to decorate their own bookmark to take home with them!
