Our Summer Reading program with "Ozzie The Reading Dog" was a great success! Everyone enjoyed lots of fun activities with a different theme each week. Students got to go on a safari, camp under the stars, and relax on the beach!!!
During the first two weeks of May our volunteers read either "The Princess of Everywhere" or "We're Going on a Treasure Hunt " to all the HeadStart classrooms in Marion County.
Our goal is to promote literacy by reading books to the children.
Each child received their own personal copy of the book to enjoy!
Literacy Volunteers of Marion County participated in the Literacy Fair held at the Fairmont Field House on April 27, 2024.
Over 460 books were passed out to students throughout the day. There was also a fun activity available for the kids to decorate their own superhero shield to take home with them.
Thanks to the Mannington Public Library.
Ozzie the Reading Dog had a fun time meeting and reading to all the kids during National Puppy Day!!!
