We have officially kicked off our Summer Reading program with "Ozzie The Reading Dog" This week's theme was Safari. Everyone enjoyed making their very own animal puppet along with facepainting games, and other fun activities.
During the first two weeks of May our volunteers read either "The Princess of Everywhere" or "We're Going on a Treasure Hunt " to all the HeadStart classrooms in Marion County.
Our goal is to promote literacy by reading books to the children. Each child received their own personal copy of the book to enjoy!
Literacy Volunteers of Marion County participated in the Literacy Fair held at the Fairmont Field House on April 27, 2024.
Over 460 books were passed out to students throughout the day. There was also a fun activity available for the kids to decorate their own superhero shield to take home with them.
Thanks to the Mannington Public Library.
Ozzie the Reading Dog had a fun time meeting and reading to all the kids during National Puppy Day!!!
